Im using Final Cut 7....
I've never had an issue with this until today. I am importing some quicktime files HD720. I drag the clip over to my empty sequence and Final Cut asks me if I want to change my settings to match my footage. I click yes. It adds the video to the sequence and appears to be the correct settings but it still wants to make me render! I tried converting the quicktimes to ProRes and then importing after that.....but it does the same thing....wants me to render. I trashed the user preferences....but still the same thing. I messed with the RT unlimited/RT safe....but still the same thing. Anyone have any ideas as to what the freak is gong on? They're normal quicktime files.
These are like 4 minute clips and it takes like 30 minutes to render the clip. I shouldn't have to render an unedited clip just to start editing.
