Hello guys, I am new to the shooting & editing scene and I am facing the following issue.
I have to shoot a fitness show for broadcast TV. The camera I am using is an Olympus Pen Mini PM1 that unfortunaly shoots only in 1080i 60i or 720p at 60p.
My first question is regarding shutter speed, I should I go for 1/125 (i cannot select 1/200), 1/100, 1/50 or 1/60?
The shoot will be very simple as the camera will be mounted on a stand and everything will be shoot in one take so no editing needed just some color correction in magic bullet will be made and then the footage will be render.

What do you suggest I should to in order to render the 60p or 60i (if its better to film this way) to 25p for PAL broadcast? I have made some tests and i cannot do it without some motion blur or a choppy result.

Shutter speed is entirely a matter of what you want it to look like.

I'd shoot 60p, disable resample, and then export. You will not be able to convert without a little bit of compromise.

Well i had to shoot at 1/50 because of the lighting and it worked out well. I will make a project and export without resample and see how it goes.

Does it matter what settings i use when i make the project prior to importing the clip?

No, your project settings are irrelevant to import. But there's no reason not to set it up the way you want before you import.
