Render buttons in Button Bar stopped working..

Does anyone know how I can get my render buttons that are in my button bar to work again? I am not sure what happened to make them stop working. All the other buttons work fine.

I even deleted the Render buttons from the bar and added them back and they still don't work.
 
You can always render using the short cut Command+R for video and Option+R for audio. As for the mysterious buttons, maybe another user can comment.

ok...yea i use those buttons like religiously! I wonder if it had something to do with rendering my long project. Yesterday I got a message that said I had to delete some render files because I was running low on disc space so I deleted all my render files and emptied my trash to free up a lot of disc space now those buttons won't work.
