render 2.35:1 ratio

Hi Folks,

I did a search but found nothing.

First time for me to edit a film in the 2.35:1 ratio. I shoot squeeze and then I cropped in FCP.

My question is... Is there a way to render this film without having to render the black bars?

I would love to be able to tell my computer to only render the actual picture!

Any one know if I can do this?

Sorry if there is a thread on this....

There is...

But I don't know immediately how. Well... I do, but what version of Compressor are you using? In compressor you can set the geometry and have it crop on export.

Try searching the manual for Compressor for that term. If you have Compressor as part of Studio 1 then I should be able to help.

Good luck,

Once you have the project in Compressor, go to Inspector and open the Geometry Tab. You can then constrain the aspect ratio to 2.35:1 and (at least on my version) crop out the black bars. That should give you your widescreen output without the black bars.
