just me, personally, I REALLY don't like the way it looks. I'm all for the contrasty black and white but i keep getting the feeling i'm watching a cut scene from a video game and it comes off as cheap and not cinematic.

opinions vary - I respect that it wasn't for you, but I found the look entirely engrossing, and just marvelled to watch it. They did some great things with persistence of vision - flashing lights revealing details but not within the same frame - so only over time could you figure out what you were looking at - strobing club lights illuminate dancing figures in a club, or muzzle flash revealing the shooter...all kinds of stuff like that.
The content of the film, and the plot, is straight out of a video game, though.
But I for one loved the look.
