I'm exploring options to help give a little bit of fill light when shooting exteriors at sunset (looking into the sunset with the subject facing camera). As its for a documentary piece we need to be quick moving and we aren't going to be able to have additional lighting. So I thought why not throw on a ringlight like the F&V R300S and use this to help balance the exposure... the issue is that I really don't want those ringlight reflections coming back in the subjects eyes.
Has anyone any experience using a circular polariser to cut this out? or as the light is bouncing directly back from the subject would it have no effect...? If so would it be more effective to use a LED panel mounted on the top handle and then hopefully the polariser would be able to cut that angle of light out..
