Removing Letterboxes?

Hey all. I imported some footage into FCP which is currently in 16:9 format. I am trying to upload the finished video to the internet and it is very hard to see in this format. Is it possible I can make the footage fill up the whole screen somehow?

Also, a side question about audio. I am playing an MP3 song as music to the images and when uploaded, the quality sounds very poor. Does anyone have any tips about this as well?

Thanks all in advance.

No. 1. You can use Compressor to compress for the web and crop the black bars out.

No. 2. FCP doesn't like MP3 files. You need to convert it to AIFF, either with QT Pro or with iTunes. Make sure it is 48kHz.

Thanks for the reply friend. Sorry for the probably extremly noob question, but how may I crop the bars out so that the rest of the image fills up the whole screen? in FCP when I crop... I can only cover the bars with white... thanks again.

The cropping is done in Compressor when you export it there to make the H.264 file for the web.
