Removing 2:3:3:2 pulldown with Sorenson 4.0

I have exported a DV-AVI (24p Advanced) file out of Premiere. Now I want to import that into Sorenson Squeeze 4.0 and compress it to a 24p quicktime file for the web.

When I import the file and set the framerate to 23.976, the resulting footage looks mildly stuttery. I assume this is because it isn't removing the pulldown properly.

When I import an uncompressed 23.976 file, everything looks absolutely beautiful.

Is there something I'm missing inside of sorenson squeeze to remove the pulldown? Or can it just not do it? If that's the case, then is there another way I can export the film from Premiere without a pulldown, but compressed so I don't have to work with a huge file?

Thanks in advance.

24pa needs special pulldown so many apps don't support it. I suspect Sorenson doesn't support any pulldown removal, let alone 24pa. Pulldown is different than just changing the speed so unless there are specific pulldown functions it doesn't sound like it will work. Best to remove pulldown in youredit app before compression processes.

Well I know it can add a 3:2 pulldown when authoring 24p for DVD, I'm just not sure if it can remove it to encode at 24p. If it can't, then the next thing to answer is what's the best way to output at 24p, because I don't think that the DV codec supports that without a pulldown. I could be wrong though. Someone?

yeah, it can but I don't want to compress to Quicktime with Premiere. Does give you enough control. I like sorenson squeeze much better. There has to be a way?
