Removing 16:9 Anamorphic Adapter

I can't get the 16:9 Panasonic Anamorphic Adapter off. I've tightened the screw on the side and tried turning it both ways, but it just gets to a certain point and stops. I've tried with the screw loose and tightened, neither one makes a difference. No matter what direction I turn, it just gets about halfway and then stops, and it won't budge any further. I'm getting insanely frustrated, and I would love it if someone could help me out. I've read the documentation that comes with the 16:9 Adapter and Barry's DVX100 Handbook, but I can't get this thing off. Did I screw it on too far or something? Why is it so difficult to remove?

It's always hard to take off the first time you attempt it. It requires a certain feel to get used to taking it off. What you should do is reset it to its normal "on" position, make sure the screw is snug (but don't over-tighten it), and then push in on the lens towards the camera with some pressure (not too much) while you turn it counter-clockwise. It should unscrew easily. It just takes some getting used to.
