Remove audio from video

A friend of mine has a project completely edited in CS3, and we're trying to find a way I could work on the sound. The audio tracks are embedded into the video, and the total video files are 60GB.

I don't live in the same area though, and 60GB is too large to file transfer with the time frame we're under.

Any suggestions if it's possible to separate the audio from video and only transfer those files along with the edits and sync?

I've got CS4 + Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, and Vegas + Sound Forge if any of those could help.

'Export Audio'

Export each track separately .
It can be helpful to have a 2 Pip on each to resynch them later.

The project has over 100 audio edits though, and I need to have access to the original sound recording so that if I need to drag an audio edit backwards or crossfade it, ect.. that it'll work.

Exporting track by track would imply moving every audio edit on it's own track correct?

If the editor has track layed correctly (eg checkerboarded the clips) you should not have to move the audio clips too much. It is possible to do though.

I would suggest that the editor does a duplicate timeline and adds handles to all the audio edits/clips as well as ensures they are logical and checkerboarded.

CS3 does not have omf export ( CS4 does). I assume you are using ProTools?
