Remote Zoom Comparison?

I'm looking at purchasing either the new Libec ZC-3DV Remote Zoom controller or the VariZoom VZ-DVX100 Zoom Controller. Would appreciate feedback from someone who has used either of these (even better someone who has used both). Thanks in advance.

From a comparison I did a year ago between varizoom and Zoe, The ZOE was a bit better.

Manage to hands on the libec one... is pretty responsive and smooth, decent piece of accessories for the price. Never tried others though.

A plus point for me as I can use it on the other cameras using lanc.

I would say that Varizoom products are well made, but I went with the VZ-ProL LANC controller (I know you can't use LANC on DVX) because the lack of set-and-lock zoom speeds made it hard to make a smooth continuous zoom in any situation.

That is the most important, unless you only use zoom to frame and set focus. Scenic videos demand a smooth-as-silk zoom which a set-speed controller can give you.
