The top of the line is preston systems. They run around 30-40K. The next contendor is the bartech FF, which I own and costs around 5K. There are more models coming out soon as beta at lower cost but shipping dates are all TBD.

In my opinion Bartech is the best you can get for the price and and Jim Bartells technical support in legendary. If you live/work in LA and have a problem with a unit he will come to the set and fix it for you on the spot.Otherwise he will overnight you replacements. You can always reach him over the phone. You can find bartech used in $150 million movies (GI JOE being the latest.)

I would like to see redrocks unit when it comes out would be reluctant to ever purchase one as they dont have customer support. You are on your own.

Working with Remote FF has a lot of pitfalls if you have never worked with one. Reputation is the best selling points for any unit. Prestons are the best but after using a bartech I sold mine, bought a bartech

Good Luck

Hi,

If you looki n the 35mm adapter section, I am in the middle of developing a bartech style remote follow focus. Its wireless, has memory settings and a digitaly encoded signal for no interferance. It comes with a case and a motor for £300 ($600) have a look in the topic in the 35mm adapter section for photos.

I have been prototyping the motherboards today. The system has 6 microprocessors :-D

And as for support, my plan is to publish my phone number, so phone me up and I can sort it out. Also if your near me il come and fix it like Jim does.
