This back cap was machined from a solid block of aluminium. Tolerance on this part about 20 microns.

Also, I know you are going to announce the price point later on but:

- How much will be the replacement cables with lemo connectors? On average I pay about $150 to $400 depending on the complexity (US).

Thanks,

Not quite that much. Probably £30 for an angled-straight hofo cable. (assembled by Lemo with genuine lemo connectors, not the fake ones that have surfaced recently)

Thanks for the info.

(30 GBP = 50 US)

(500g= 1.1 pounds) God I wish they used the metric system here!!!!

Cheers

We are shooting with it on the Red tomorrow. I wouldn't power it from the power sockets on the back of the camera, after what happened with the Viewfactor run/stop button, I don't want to go near those things. Best to power it off a D tap or steadicam sled. Dont forget the smallest of the sony NP batteries (£30) will power it all day.

Glad you like the pointer, I like it aswell. Quite sleek. Was thinking of harrier jumpjets when I designed it :-D

either a Sony NP battery ontop (EX style also available, Canon, Panaosic, JVC plates coming soon) or 5-35v DC through the 4pin XLR. Current is half an amp max.

No, the AAs caused a bit of a problem. The only battery boxes that were available were incredibly tacky and plasticy, and I didnt really want to use such badly made ones. They also didn't last very long, presented another mounting issue and didnt really provide enough current for the motor. Most people have those Sony batteries, as they are used to power monitors etc. If not, they are very cheap to buy, and the small one (570 size) lasts all day. We will have mounts for the Canon, JVC and Panasonic batteries soon.

As I have said all along though, its best to power the HF RX from Vlock or AB power supply, using something like the Redrock power pod and an IDX Vlock battery. You can plug the RX in using a standard Ptap XLR cable.

Pete.

Man cool news on the battery mount, i saw that in the drawing and wondered what mount it was, do you know if it fits the M series batterys? I have heaps from my PDX10p kit. i know some of the chargers mounts took L and M series L at the bottom and M at the top. Is this a dual mount ? or is there a plate to adapt M to L

Just to clarify, the Sony L series is used to power the remote only, correct? Since Vlock and AB batteries are a pretty significant monetary investments, is there a lower cost option for powering the receiver?

Hi,

Dont think we can get M mount. Might be able to via an adapter plate.

The lower cost option is a sony NP mount battery.

Looking absolutely fantastic, Peter. Quite excited over here.
You might have answered this earlier, but I can't remember...
Will you be offering a power splitter cable? I'm currently on the steadicam flyer le, and the sled only offers one power out. if i could split the power to the camera and the FF unit, that'd be lovely.
All in all, looks very lovely. Solid, quality, precision...everything I love!
