Remote Access Hard Drives

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but here goes. I saw an ad for a remote access hard drive and was wondering if when you allow someone to access files on that drive, can you give them a link that only allows them to access a certain file or area on the drive? I was thinking this would be great to download footage for a out of state client and then just let them access the hard drive to retrieve their footage. But you may not want that client to go digging through your drive with other clients material also on the drive.
