I know version 10.0.3 helped with relinking in the Event area, but it's annoying going through the Event to find the footage that's not linked properly. Right clicking in the timeline and choosing "reveal in Event" hasn't always worked for me for some reason, seems buggy.
I realized yesterday that if you right-click on the footage (or file) in the timeline and choose "Reveal In Finder" it'll open up the Alias file FCPX creates. If you right-click that file and choose "Show Original" it won't find the file (since the link is broken) but ask if you want to fix the alias. If you choose "Fix Alias" you can search and point it to the proper file re-linking the file without all the FCPX annoyance. Go back to FCPX and the file should be fixed!
Not sure if that's been covered but I thought it might be helpful for folks. If you know what files are missing in your timeline, just do a search for the alias in Finder and relink.
