There's a new Iphone app out called Mrelease. Looks cool but there's no line for a witness to the release.

The app developer told me an entertainment lawyer said it was not necessary. Most of the releases I've seen have a witness line but--oddly enough--some I have from a Travel Channel Academy shoot do not.

I'm just curious what others' experience has been. Do your releases have a line for a witness signature?

There's no witness scrawl that can compare to hitting the record button on your camcorder and watching the person sign the release form. Furthermore, it identifies who is who if you don't know (or can't remember) all the players.
