ive never done this b4, and i wanna do it for the upcoming festival.

I wanna do it to see whats its like, and to see if my actors are decent.

the question is, how do i see if there good or not...what should i get ehm to do, say there lines? right now there isnt anyt lines, so should i get my actor to do some stuff he would do infront of camera, and see how he is?

No, get the lines done. How else would you know if they'd fit the character or not? Rehearsals are for after you have actors. It sounds like you're talking about auditions, in which case you'd have "sides" or a cold reading.

Hammer out a script and then do auditions. Or if you're not doing auditions, still finish the script and that will give you a reason to rehearse, before actually shooting the scene.
