Registering Your Feature Movie Domain

I've gone from developing feature scripts, finalizing the name and then registering the site domain, to coming up with the concept and a title, then checking the title for domain availability and registering it even before I've completed the treatment or begun to fine tune my logline. It made me wonder if I was getting a bit too carried away. After all, even with the mountains of rewrites, titles aren't exactly set in stone.

So how early in development are you typically registering the main domain for your feature projects?

The sooner you can crank up your web presence, the better.

A project with presence is a lot more attractive to distributors and exhibitors than a buzzless brilliance!

Anything you can do to make your project look professional goes a very long way with the dicision makers.

I would encourage you to even further than mere domain registry, shoot your teaser first and get it up well before you even start principle!
This gives it time to gather support and pick up more hits than normal.
