Registering FCP studio...

I have a friend that got FCP through another friend until he can get is own FCP studio software sometime later on. When he goes to install the software I told him not to register it since it is probably already registered by the other guy. What would happen if he forgot and DID register it anyway? I always hear people say don't register the software if you get it from someone else!
 
He'll likely be arrested in the morning. If you get taken into custody as well- I recommend cutting a deal. No reason to go down with a sinking ship.

Really, there is no justfication for stealing software. If he spent a lot of money making a movie I'm sure he wouldn't want someone pirating his creation thus limiting his ability to recoup his investment.
 
Go buy the educational copy and make some money and then buy the full set of software that

can be updated.
