Register Buisness. Then What?

Hi, the title of the thread pretty much says it all. The buisness is the average movie project production company type. Im going to register my buisness not only for tax purposes but for credability. Im going to do the sol-proprietor with the province im in (yes im Canadian). Incorporated costs $140 more and takes longer. But my name is totally protected if I do that.

Now I want to make sure that my logo and name is 100% steal proof. I know when im registering with the province, its steal proof for the province im in and thats it.

Anyone have any good advice on trademarking for me. I see many people on this site have mini production companies and don't seem to worried about getting sued or being copied.

Thanks
Curtis

there are trademark attys out there who do nothing but this. While you can register a trademark online, I recomend having it done. It's worth the peace of mind (to me).
Registering your logo takes a while and it costs around 1200 dollars. If there is an uneasy part of this, it's the gamble... you have to pay this fee and then they search and get back with you to let you know if it's available for trademark or if infringes sombody elses. You wont get that money back if it's a no go....thats their search fee. This is what is bypassed by doing it yourself but if you screw it up, you are liable.
When I set my trademark up, I was to start putting the TM by my logo. When it was approved and registered, thats when I was to start using the circled R.
