Reformatting?

Hello again, I just bought my new computer it's been sitting here for 3 days now, and I just got the Windows XP pro in the mail.

Now can anyone give me a link or any info that can help me reformat the computer? I have no idea on what to do, any sites that can show step by step.

Also, it would be nice if I could find out how I could change the soundcard, yeah I know I'm not a computer pro, but again, some people are good at something others aren't =)

Thanks.

I'd recommend taking the computer to someone who has done that before. It can be a little daunting the first time ... but, if you just boot the computer with the XP Pro disc in the drive then it will launch the install process. Within that process you can tell Windows to format the drive. Just read the screens very carefully and you'll probably be OK.

Not sure what you mean about the soundcard. You mean actually replacing the one in your computer with a different one?

Put the XP CD in the drive and start the computer.

Follow along with the instructions until it asks you where you want to install to.
One of the options is to format the drive, choose that, then when it's done, reboot with the CD still in, and you can now install to a clean, formatted driive.

yeah, I knew I had to do that.

But I believe in has "Home edition" on it, wouldn't that be a problem? someone said I had to reformat before.

So I guess I'll just start my PC with the CD in, and follow the instructions.

Thanks alot.
