Reflective objects and Green Screen Compositing

I came across a problem that I have never come across just today while I was doing some green screen tests. Now, despite a poorly lit green screen I managed to pull an excellent key with some mask rotoscoping and Keylight, but the character is wielding a highly reflective sword. If it were a still mirror, I could just compositite a reflection from background or foreground, but the sword is moving so fast and it is a couple of times that part of the sword goes completely transparent. Another problem is that at some point, the tip disappears completely.

I didn't think too much about the problem and am hoping someone has suggestions before I spend a lot of time "inventing" ways to figure it out. Suggestions? Do you think a tight rotoscope mask of affected areas, under a duplicate layer of foreground plate, and a color correct would do the trick?

Sorry for the long post, but any help is appreciated.

A before and after pic would help.

You may want to tackle this by doing your main key, and then placing the original footage above it, using mask to isolate the sword, place a hue and saturation on that layer and desaturate the green channel. Your sword stays on its own layer and has no green in it.

Yeah that is what I ended up doing. I will post some screen grabs today of the footage and show you what happened. Thanks for the tip.
