They should have just called it 'Rock'Em Sock'Em Robots' and been done with it...And "Bring it!" is soon to be on the list of movie dialogue that should be retired--

I feel like this is the coolest, and stupidest thing I've seen in a long time.

I don't know how to feel about this...

John Smith was the hot dog eating champ of the world....but times change. Eating changes....

"The human stomach can only take so much. But the Hippo never stops."

This summer: HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS!

I don't understand why they bothered with a script for this. Seems like it might be cooler as a TV show with new robots just duking it out every week. Then some long-running loose storylines like WWF...basically WWF with VFX...

This was based off of a Twilight Zone episode.

I wish that they had kept some of the more restrained, almost noir-ish atmosphere of the source material, as this just feels like another loud and over the top generic robot movie in the same league as Transformers.

Seriously, is Hollywood ever going to do a serious and realistic android/robot movie again? It would seem completely unique compared to pretty much every modern movie dealing with the subject. I mean, has there really been any great robot movies in recent years? The last films or TV shows that did anything interesting with robots this past decade were The Matrix films and Battlestar Galactica. Before that what then... Hardware? The Terminator? Robocop? AI was interesting, but even then, that was ten years ago, and it is certainly not in the league of classics like Blade Runner, The Matrix, Terminator, or Robocop.

As for Real Steel, I think I'd rather spend my money on buying or renting The Twilight Zone, and just grabbing some microwave popcorn and hunkering down to watch my copy of Hardware. Or maybe play Metal Gear Solid 4, which is practically a movie anyways.

Or Robot Jox.
