Reducing Distortion

I am having an issue with distortion on pieces of my audio. Some bits of my dialogue peak out and in other parts there is wind noise.
Any way to reduce this? I am editing on Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. I also have Adobe Audition, which I have never explored in depth.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

If your audio is clipping, you're pretty much screwed because there's basically nothing you can do to fix it -- a clip here and there maybe, lot's of clipped, forget it. The audio information isn't even there to begin with, so nothing can fix it. For wind chop, try a low-cut filter using an EQ to reduce the bass, that will help a lot, but it won't fix it entirely.

In Audition you can either manually round off the clip by dragging the samples into a nice curve or there is a feature, I think it is called Restoration, that will do this. It does not so much but will make the clipping slightly less harsh.

What Tainted means is if there is literally one or two peaks that are slightly clipped this can mask it but in most cases clipping is much more chronic.

Good luck
