reduce breathing sounds?

Looking for a woman
i'm recording myself doing a monologue and it's really noticeable whenever i inhale. is there any way to reduce breathing sounds during recording? or is it something that i'm going to have to do in post?

For now you can edit it out in audio post.

Are you applying compression as you record? That would "hype" your breathing sounds.

Perhaps some better breathing technique as well? Like singers you could try inhaling through both your nose and mouth; you get more air faster and less breath sounds.

If it's really bad, just edit it out. I've had this issue with voice talent when cutting dialogue for video games. If it sounds natural, then no worries. If it's distracting, just cut it. When recording, be aware of it and adjust your breathing technique. I don't rely on plug ins or anything like that to try and remove this stuff. Breaths are in between words and only take about a half second to remove if you know what you are doing.

Generally it's a post thing. BTW you don't want to remove them all just reduce them. If you do a monolog and the audience never hears you breath they will start getting out of breath. They naturally will sync breathing to an extent and your breathing allows them to breath. They won't pass out or anything but it will end up making them feel very uneasy by the end.
