Can someone help me setup the M2 (SD) to my DVX100A??
I just bought a used M2 and the achromat wouldn't attache to the M2.
I asked the seller and he told me the M2 and 55mm achromat will not physicaly attache.
is that true?

so this is what I got

Because the 55mm achromat lens has a 72mm step up ring, it will not fit to the M2. so do I need a 72mm to 55mm step down ring to fit to the M2? or can I just take off the 72mm step up ring and attache the 55mm achromat lens to the M2 directly?
if so, I think I will need a special adapter ring because the achromat and the M2 are faceing the female socket to each other so I can't screw them in.
Now, does anyone now what kind of screw that is called?(so I can search, and buy)

There’s several tutorials at the M2 website, look at them and you will see how to do. But you will not "physically attach" the achromat to the M2 since it has a rubber "glow" you slide it in, and adjust it for right backfocus...

But have a look at M2.

Yes the M@ is not a Hard mount system like the LEX Sgpro and Brevis, It uses a rubber seal to keep out light.

No, it's not true. Actually, the M2 is a "hard-mount" adapter. That means that the SD Achromatic Lens will be physically attached to the M2 Adapter via step-down rings supplied by RRM Store.

Here's the link for the user manual; you might need this:

http://www.redrockmicro.com/assets/docs/Redrock_M2_Manual.pdf

You might probably also need a hard mount kit which can be ordered directly from RRM Store:

If you prefer the "soft-mount" that you already have, or your plastic hood needs to be replaced, Brian will help you on that too.

There are a lot of video tutorials including the "hardmount video tutorial" at that end users access-only forum that will help you solve any problem you might have anytime.

Good luck.

I see the rubber hood there. You haven't pulled it over the achromat. They're not supposed to screw into each other. The rubber hood allows you to move the camera back and forth a few millimetres until you get th right back focus.

thank you so much guys.
I now know what I have to do.
I think I just should have covered the rubber on to the lens and that's fine.
I've went to the RR web and it said it all.
thanks anyway,
I'm just a little afraid the lens might have move if it's not hard mounted

by the way, after setting up the whole M2 to the camera, does anyone have problems holding everything by the handle on the DVX???
the whole setup is heavy so I don't want to brake anything......
is the grip handle strong enough to hold the unit????
