RedRock Micro Step down ring

Anyone know the secret to unscrewing the step down ring from the HVX 200? The skinny thing is stuck!

Hello,

What we do in the office if some gear gets stuck is to use grip cloth or something similar to get leverage. If that doesn't work, we have an oil filter tool from an auto supply store that works wonders.

A third option is to use pliers to get a grip on the ring. If you do this be VERY VERY careful and put something between the pliers and your lens so you don't scratch.

PLIERS!!! I would be too nervous. Oil filter tool sounds like the best option. That won't damage the lens?
It finally came off after the sixth guy. We even had a triathalon athlete take a crack at it. but we are good for now. I will have to get the oil for next time.

Good suggestion...I've had my step down ring stuck for months and haven't ever thought of the oil filter tool...great. Pliers on the other hand not a chance, that just sounds like a disaster waiting to happenrogar-BlackEye(DBG
