Redrock Micro Shim Kit

Does anyone know of an alternative or a possible used Redrock Micro shim kit?

They want $70 for a shim...the cheese plate i bought, that i need a shim for, was only $150...something does add up there.

I love Redrock Micro and think their stuff is fairly priced for the quality but $70 for a shim is a little crazy...its not made out of unobtanium from what i can tell...so...
 
You could def do the flat washers, though you may need longer screws. There is also usually a seller on eBay that sells just the Redrock Micro shims and again youd have to get longer bolts. I ended up emailed Redrock and told them my problem and they actually were kind enough to send me a Shim Kit for free. Sounds cool, but then I did spend over $3k on their gear, so they probably figured theyve already made their money off of me.
 
Yeah i ended up getting the shim kit for $33 plus $7 shipping for a total of about $40...still overpriced as hell but a little less stinging than direct from Redrock at $70 plus shipping.

I mean honestly, i LOVE their stuff...best gear I've ever laid hands on...and everything literally is worth what they sell it for for the most part, except little shims of metal which are about as overpriced as anything i have ever seen...its a bummer because it just put a really bad feeling in me paying that much for a "kit" that is essentially little stamps of metal when all i needed was the one shim and slightly longer screws...but oh well...

i guess you usually get nailed on something at some point...otherwise i feel like I've gotten great value for my money...not cheap, but not overly/prohibitively expensive for me like Zacuto (who also makes awesome stuff), so i respect Redrock in that sense.

Honestly i knew i coulda stuck just about anything between he clamp and cheese plate and had it shimmed just fine, but I'm tired of jimmy rigging things to work...which is half the reason I'm selling old stuff and buying Redrock stuff. I just wanted the official solution because its more sleek, dependable, etc...i dono. Just makes me feel better, haha.
