Redrock Micro m2 settings

Hey i was reading something about the m2 the other day and it said:

Please keep in mind that you will need to tweak the adapter for your particular video camera to get optimal results. All this information can be found on the Redrock Micro website and in their community forums

What does this mean exactly? "tweak the adapter" im about to get one and i wanna get optimal results, can an m2 owner help me? i wanna get results like this clip made with the m2!!

I'm not sure since I bought mine second-hand and it was already tweaked to work great with my HVX. If you email Brian Valente, I'm sure he will be glad to explain. I think you can make minor adjustments to position of the ground glass.

Rest assured that there are manuals and tutorials to help you through the experience of owning an M2. Their forum is pretty robust - check it out: http://www.redrockmicro.com/forum/

You won't be able to see the product tutorials until you purchase though, as they are password protected.

I suspect they mean setting up the M2 so that its height and position are correct with your camera, and then moving the M2 back and forth on the rails by fractions of an inch until you've nailed back focus.

Some cameras are already good to go with the M2 in terms of the height of the unit. But some need to be shimmed, like the HV20.

The HVX200 has to be shimmed too. You can shim the baseplate to keep the adapter at the standard height, or you can shim the M2. Instructions for all of this can be found in the RR forum.
