Considering in investing in a new 35mm adapter (currently have a diy rotating redrock adapter, which works fine but thinking of upgrading).

I've seen quite a few Redrock M2 and M2 Encores going on ebay from $350-550 and is very tempted on buying one. Is there anything I should watch out for? Like acromat, charger etc?

Also might want to take a look at the Letus extreme's on Ebay, they're getting cheaper for every day...

I'm using an SGblade from shoot35. It's the most flexible adapter since you can change the ground glasses for different looks. Not to meniton the buildquality, it's absolutely top notch.
And the shoot35 service can't be beaten!

wow the new M3 looks sweet! a huge leap over the M2 in build quality. Whats lens are they using on the redrock M3 pic? is that one of those crazy expensive cinema lenses?

It's about time Redrock did something with that ugly shoebox. This is really nice(m3) But with the price more than a 7d or gh2. I doubt they sell enough to cover the R&D of this new adapter. I still think Handy35 and the Sgblade are the best bang for the buck. Lets face it. they all need lots of light, and will never be able to shoot in low light like these new large sensor cams. With that said, I still like the look of a dof adapter over a DSLR. I just like the Bokah it produces.

I think that the Redrock m3 is a great piece of equipment, but they won't sell many of these since the main days of adapters are over. The M3 will most likely be rented when needed I think..

Surprisingly, we do have a lot of people still wanting adapters. Yes Admir, we will definitely have these in rentals as we still do rent out our M2e(s) quite regularly. With the 1/4 stop of light-loss, it comes to the point where you're pretty much only restricted to the low light capabilities of the camera itself. I personally have used this on Canon's new XF305, and wow was I impressed. With the beautiful bokeh look of adapters and not having the restrictions of dslrs like rolling shutter, this is definitely my choice setup for planned shorts, not so much run and gun.

and Baddgsx, its a Carl Zeiss CP2
