Redrock M2 and DVX100B alignment issue

Thx for reading. I just acquired a Redrock M2 35mm adapter for my DVX100B. I'm stuck in the horizontal alignment step of the assembly ... I am 1/8" to 1/4" off in the gross horizontal alignment between the camera and the M2. The problem is that the horizontal adjustment is limited by the steel block that sits between the rods ... it's flushed up against the rod and I need that 1/8" to 1/4" to get there...
I must be doing something fundamentally wrong. Help, anyone?

Hi Harry,

Some cameras need adjustment so they line up properly with the M2. Here's an old post from our forums that explains it:

"On your quick release plate where the camera is mounted, there are 4 small bolts that are holding the plate to the pedestal (riser). take all four out, move it over all the way to the right, and only use 2 bolts now on the left side of the mounting plate. now underneath the rod assembly there are 2 small bolts that hold the pedestal in place to keep it from sliding back and forth. loosen those a hair, then move your whole pedestal mounting area as far right, before it hits the rod."

If you continue to have trouble email me at support@redrockmicro.com.

Cheers!

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the reply. I followed your directions *and* reversed the quick release plate so that the thumbscrew/locking tab would not interfere with the rods and plate when tightened. I did scan the forums at RRM but no luck on finding this info.
On to the next phase! Thanks very much.
Harry
