They just unveiled their Matte box and gave us details of the package and its cost:
$500 gets you the matte box three stages and a french flag!

ALSO!!! Without warning they showed us a remote follow focus tht will be "speed sensitive" and will be able to control more than one motor so you can contol your focus and your iris/zoom (might be able to do three!) The package will also be ony $500 and it will include the remote and one motor and the unit that the motor plugs into in the camera (which I think it also will power the thing) Please don't quote me, I can't remember everything correctly and I'm sure Redrock will come out with details soom (I hope) did anyone check their site?

I posted some pics HERE and I'm sure there will be more etails there posted by others and in the Ilegal screening threads in other sections of the forum.

ALSO, Redrock had two DVXs taping the whole thing and they are going to podcast it!

where and when can you buy? You can put this matte box on a stock camera without the redrock lens right?

yea... I was hoping someone brought a digital. Did you take any pictures of the power supply-cotrol box unit? the one they had was hughe but they said it would end up being much smaller. they pointed at an other piece of equipment that looked like it might have been 5 x 4 x 2 inches

keep in mind this is the product in the development stage... so no tape, and we can expect a nice pro looking casing for the motor.
 
Wow, perfect timing. I was about to commit to another product. I can wait a few months for NAB. Great ideas to facilitate our needs.
 
just a basic question about the redrock follow focus gear rings...

so if i have a lens which turns more than one turn (canon's 200mm f2.8 fd for example) while focusing, i can not use this with those gears?

thanks in advance if anybody's got experience with that
 
You wouldn't be able to use their lens gear. But other brand of lens gear exist that goes all around a lens. What it the diameter of your lens?
 
that looks sweet. Did they say that there would be a package price for everything? adapter, follow focus, remote focus and matte box? If so, they might have an unbeatable deal... I feel a credit card frenzy coming on again.
 
they did say that they will "most likely" (or something like that) come up with various different packages
