RedEye Wide Angle Adapters

Anybody know anything about these? I see that they're non-zoom thru, which isn't a huge deal. The big deal is that I don't see that they still have the .5x in 72mm.

Hello, I have bought one.
It's a really bad Adaptater.
Hard vignetting and a lot of chromatic abberations.
Forget it.
Use the 0.6X Century instead.

I have used this adapter on and off over the past 5 or 6 years.

It's a PLASTIC LENS. If I knew this before I bought it, I wouldn't have.

There is some chromatic aberration I notice when looking through it. I never noticed this though in footage. If you get a size larger than your lens front and use a step up ring, you won't have problems with vignetting. I bought an 82mm for my XL1 and a 72mm - 82mm step up ring and it works fine.

It's pretty decent quality optical plastic which doesn't seem to bother most people who are wearing glasses with plastic lenses (not me.)

I just ordered the Redeye 0.7. I was attracted to the light weight (and the lower price). The plastic doesn't bother me, if it works as advertised. I'll be shooting some travel stuff, and it looks like something one can carry in a pocket.

It's a great lense. Here's a small "review" of sorts I did on mine a while back....
