Red Render Bars above Normal clips.

I am just starting a new project and the first clip I put on the timeline had a red bar above it! Its just a regular shot. What is this all about. I put some more clips on the timeline and they had the bars too. These clips have no effects or color correction done to them at all. They are 24p Advanced clips. I removed the pulldown when I captured the clips though. I can't seem to figure out why I am getting the red render bars.

Yeah, someimes FCP does strange things..;, verify how FCP interpret your footage, and if everything seems normal; trash the sequence, close everything and trash FCP Preferences with FCP Recue.

DVX -- You shouldn't. My bet is your sequence doesn't match your clips.

Apple-Zero your sequence and see if indeed it's framerate is 23.97 and or the size - anamorphic is the same etc.

Good luck,

Re: Red Render Bars above Normal clips.

This original post was back in October I think and I have since figured out what the problem was. However tonight I went to drag some clips onto the timeline and the RED render bars came back and I totally forgot what I did to get rid of them! For this sequence I am editing in a 29.97 timebase. The are regular clips that are requiring to be rendered. What's the deal with all that? Anyone offering help or suggestions would be appreciated!

thanks

Re: Red Render Bars above Normal clips.

Yopur clips aren't matching your sequence. If you're putting 24fps clips in a 29.97 sequence or 44k audio in a 48k sequence then it will need to render. Compare the sequence settings to the clip settings.

Re: Red Render Bars above Normal clips.

Yeah, just make sure that the clip settings match the sequence settings and you will be in! It sure gets confusing moving in and out of projects with 30 and 24.

I know when I start a new project I always check my sequence and then capture one test clip and put it on the sequence to make sure the settings are correct. That way, if I have messed up on something, I can changed it before I capture hours of footage and wastea lot of time.

Re: Red Render Bars above Normal clips.

I did all that. Everything matched. Now I had to open a new sequence then I dragged the clip to the timeline and everything was fine. For some reason the previous sequence which WAS the NEW timeline kept showing the red bars. I am not sure why that happened but its the 2nd project that, that has happened to.
