Red becomes consumer legend

I recently had a guy assist me with a shoot that has no experience, but he mentioned something I thought was interesting. He saw my DVX100B and said wow is that HD and I said NO. He then said. Hey have you you ever heard of a camera called Red One. It is supposed to be the best camera ever made.


This happening to any one else.


People who have no experience or Interest in film making or production know the name of this camera.

News about the Red has gotten blogged at sites like Engadget and Gizmodo since the beginning, so I'm not surprised. It is funny though.

Yeah, the next few music videos I have lined up wanted a RED but when I broke down the pricing they changed their minds real quick. This weekend's video coming up really pushed for it but they just couldn't make the budget for one.

For serious, though. I think people thought that it was going to be an 800 a day rental.

Try 1700+ And that's a killer rate on a package with EVERYTHING + A DIT.

Maybe when the market is saturated it'll come down, that point is almost here.

Anyone realize NAB is just about a month n'a half away? Scarlet?
