recreating look similar to "without a trace&q

ok i'm going to be doing a short that may turn into a feature and i absolutely love the look of the cbs show "without a trace"

peter levy is the DOP.

the show has two main looks, the aerial shots are a blueish grey color, but the specific color/look i am going for is the interior look they have.

it is a bit grainy and i think it uses a black pro-mist filter?

any help on developing this look would be grately appreciated!

not neccesarily looking to copy it, but if i can figure out how they did it that would give me a great place to start and then i can make my own look with that as a base.

the show i'm doing is a drama with a lot of emphasis on the mood being set by the lighting and camera work.

Do you want to mimic this look on camera or post? I've never seen the movie but you can give me a screen grab and I can mimic the look for you. What are you using for color grading? AE, Premiere, final CUT, Avid, etc???

i'd rather do it with filters and lighting.

i think it is mostly a filter.

just a bit more contrast than norm and a fine black tint.

the look i am going for is a little bit on the dark side, the show i'm putting together is a bit on the mysterious/suspense side.

i wish that JARED would do another filter dvd and instead of faces do a room as i think that is a LOT more like what most of us shoot?

i'll try and grab a screen shot.

hey if someone could take a few minutes, without a trace is on thursday night on cbs - 10pm eastern time, and just watch a few minutes of it and give me some feedback/suggestions on how to make that look??

not so much the opening look but the regular dialog between characters on inside daytime shots.

i'd be quite grateful.
