Recreating a lost export preset

I had to wipe my hard drive and with it went a preset I had that I can't seem to duplicate.

It was just a windows media setting with an output of 720 X 540 that I liked. It was just a stock preset in Premiere Pro 1.5 that I don't remember messing with too much other than some deinterlacing and other minor things. All I was able to pull from the properties of an old output file were

720 x 540 screen size
1.46Mbps bitrate
Pixel ratio 4:3
Audio codec: Windows Media Audio 9.1
192 kbps, 44 kHz, stereo (A/V) 1-pass CBR
Video codec: Windows Media Video 9 Professional

Problem is, none of the stock presets list that size. I tried one at 1440 x 1080 which SHOULD be the same ratio but it's stretched wider like it's trying to be widescreen. Is there a way an existing setting would have an output listed that differs from what is stated?

I believe I managed to backup everything related to the previous installation on external drives. Anyone know what file format a preset would have been saved in?

I'm a novice compared to most of you guys so please be tolerant:smile:

Thanks

I haven't used 1.5 in a while...but you should be able to change your settings to match the above settings, then save that as a preset. There should be a save and delete button next to your dropdown box in adobe media encoder. But the settings above are a bit wonky. If you were exporting a windows media file 4x3, you'd choose 640x480 with square pixels. Or 720x480 with 0.9 pixels.
The preset files are VPR files. In version 2.0 they are located... C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0\MediaIO\Presets\system. They're probably in the same folder in version 1.5. Good Luck.

Thank you so much. I wasted 8 hours last night trying to recreate that preset. After doing some more reading after posting this, I have no idea why it even worked.

Setting my ratio to 4:3 and choosing a size was putting out all kinds of weird files. Going with 720 x480 is still outputting a 1:3.5 ratio for some reason. The settings don't hold. It's fine for what I'm doing though.

But thanks a bunch. Much appreciated.
