Hey guys im a newbie so hopefully you have not answered this question a million times before. What is the best way to record someone off set, for a diologue? What kind of recorders are best? My budget is almost non existent, 100-200 dollars if absolutely needed.

The cheapest recorder is the camera itself, if it has mic inputs.

For 200 dollars you can get an Octava 012 hypercardioid I think. If your camera has phantom power.

Are you asking about ADR (aka looping), narration recording, or something else? Don't fully understand what you are trying to do.
