Recording VO (Do I need to record at 24p(A)?)

I am finishing up editing a short film shot with the DVX-100 in 24p (A) mode and need to record some voice over to bring into FCP 4, a 23.98 fps sequence, to complete the project.

In the voice over session, I will be recording to DAT as well as MiniDV to bring it in to FCP easier.

Does the audio I record the audio to miniDV using the DVX-100 to ensure it comes in at the right frame rate? Or can I record to any MiniDV camera to bring into FCP at 30fps without causing problems?

Thanks in advance,

David Woods

If I understand this correctly, it shouldn't matter what frame rate the audio was recorded to properly synch up. Make sure you're working in NDF @ 48k.

You'll notice, in the item properties on your audio clips, there is no frame rate. When transfered, or imported, it'll still be the same length of time no matter in a 29.97 or 23.98 sequence.
1mins & 5 seconds is still 1mins & 5 seconds.
