Recording to Mini DV through PP2.0 help

I need to put my project onto a Mini DV tape. What I do is open PP2.0 and put the camera (connected to comp through firewire) to the "player" setting. When I play the footage in 2.0 on the timeline the image plays on the camera and I hit RECORD.

So everything worked ok except for the sound. There was no sound coming from the camera or recorded onto the tape after I played it back (on the same camera and on my DVX.) The camera I'm using for the uploading and recording is a P.O.S.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong, or just how I get sound onto the mini dvd tape?

thanx

The camera isn't going to matter as long as the recording heads are still good (which I am sure they are). To record to tape you should be using 'export to tape' in premiere not just playing back from the timeline. I stopped using premiere to export to tape however. I have noticed in the past that even though the video plays back fine sometimes premiere has audio pops while exporting (I think it is do to the amount of resources premiere uses up) I now export my DV footage to a DV avi and play it back using scenalyzer. it is a really good, small program for this type of thing.

Hi Claxius:

The solution is easy as many people has had that problem.
What u need to do is go to the Project Settings and in GENERAL there is a box that says "play external audio" or just external audio. Click there, click OK or accept and then play back the timeline...you should be able to output and hear the sound thru the camera.
I hope this helps.
