Recording in Vegas

Hey guys, I couldn't find anywhere else for support about this, and was wondering if anyone could help me with it!

I'm using the Saphire Radeon X800 GTO, and it has DVI & TV-OUT. Do you guys know if I'll be able to record directly from my card using Vegas? I have alot of wires which came with this which i've been told should do the job, but if i connect them to my xbox (which i'm trying to record from) it says it can't detect a recording device.
Will my gfx card be able to record it?

"Oh, and don't forget; this model is ViVo (that's Video-in / Video-out), so anyone who wants extra value from their card, or who wants to be productive when they're not gaming has some added incentive to pick up this fantastic card."

Thanks. - Edd.

I guess I'm not understanding your question? Recording what? Audio coming in? Video going out? Recording from your XBox into the Vegas capture tool?
You *might* be able to get video from your card if it uses VFW, but if it's DirectShow, not gonna happen.

Usually Graphics cards like that, that come with video in/outs will use their own proprietary software for capture. I don't think your Radeon X800 has audio/video inputs, unless it is an All in Wonder Radeon X800.

Can you guys recommend any *cheap* good capture cards? I'm guessing I can just shove one in my pc and be able to capture from my xbox using this. I'm a lil stuck here being new. Preferblly in British pound sterling, thanks!

Do you have a DVX? or any other mini DV camera already? If so you can just use the Video/audio RCA inputs on the camera, hook your Xbox up to that, and then you can open up the Vegas capture and capture your live playback. You will probably want you r exbox hooked up to another monitor as well, as there is a slight delay in the vegas window, enough to really mess you up if your playing a fast paced game.
