Recording differently?

Hey, for the past few days someone has been throwing glass in my driveway. I dont have any enemies and i know that noone i know has put it there as a joke or otherwise. I dont have a DVX but i have a Sony DCR VX2100, being that mini dv tapes are only 60 minutes is there a way i could hook my camera to my VCR and record straight to a VHS Tape? Or any other way i could tape for an elongated amount of time? Thanks everyone.

Use the component cable from your camera, plug it into the input of the vcr. I'm not familiar with the VX but I would think any standby mode could be turned off, so the camera can stay on for the time needed.

VCR tapes are not that much longer. Use a computer with firewire connection as your capture device. There are software programs (with 30 day trials) that will record only when movement is detected. I used it when someone was keying my car. I had the advantage of a Panasonic DVC30 that can use infrared, so it worked very, very well indeed. I don't have the software vendor name off-hand. Google.
