If I used an audio guy on a shoot. He/she could cable from the mixer straight to the camera right? I know some people record audio to a DAT tape but if I didnt want to deal with the hassle of syncing up the audio to the mouths, couldn't I have the audio come from the mixer straight into the camera?

God, I hope so. That's what I intend on doing until I get the outboard recorder.

Even then, I'll most likely record to both places.

Yes, there's no problem going directly from the mixer into the camera. Just make sure both the mixer output and the camera input are both set to line level.

depends on your project - most of the separates recorders have better audio sircuits but for regullar doco the line inputs are working quit good
