Help.

do you guys voice dub your films or use professional mics to save money. The reason why I ask is that I need to save money in longterm to shoot a documentary film.

What is the best advise.

Thanks

Re: Recording Audio

What kind of documentary? If you will be on the go I would suggest lavs, a good field mixer, and a good audio guy. If you pay anyone, pay your audio guy....well only if he knows what he is doing.

Re: Recording Audio

You spent $3500 for your video equipment (assuming you are using DVX). Expect to pay at least that much to get good audio equipment.
Even then you need to know how to use it. ???

Cutting corners on audio is a dangerous proposition, especially on a documentary.
