Recording audio in Post

I recently shot this 3 part sketch

http://mattadamsapple.com

When you get to the page, click "North Pole."

In episode, three, I want to change the line, "I don't even know an elf" to "I don't even know a grinch."Since the actor is offscreen while he is saying it, I know that I can rerecord his audio and add it to the film, but I need to do it myself because I'm a tid bit broke.

I have the mic and camera that I used for the shoot but I have no clue how to mirror the sound of the sketch.

Any help/ advice would be appreciated. The film was shot using the Panasonic HVX 200 Camera (720P) and an ME-66.

Thanks!

What you are talking about is mixing ADR to match production dialog. This is a very advanced task that can be difficult for even the best dialog mixers. You're part way there with having the same mic and preamp that was on the camera. The rest is using EQ and reverb to try to match what the production sounds like. When you record the line, make sure that the space that you are recording does not have much natural reverb.

Good luck.
