Recording an event on a big screen?

I've been offered a job to shoot a ceremony that requires me to record the event as well as display what I'm shooting simultaneously on a big screen. What do I need to do this?

I have an A1-XH and also have experience shooting events, but am not sure what kinds of cables/connections I need to hook up my camera to the screen. Is it possible to record and output my camera at the same time? Do I need to be shooting in 4:3 or does it depend on the screen?

It is as simple as finding out what you are hooking into at the display screen & getting the appropriate connectors/adapters to run from your composite audio/video connection from the XH-A1 while your filming.

My bet is it will be RCA/S-VIDEO @ the display screen. Getting extensions & taping them to the floor (depending on where you are setting up) so nobody trips and pulls your gear down.

Walking around the event and filming is not so easy without wireless.

As somebody who often supplies the big screen and projector (and usually the camera, too, but we'll work with people ;) ), Steve2012 has covered most of the basics. It's very likely that the projector you'll be working with is 4:3 and requiring a standard-def RCA or S-video feed. If you're very lucky, the A/V people providing the screen and projector might have a switcher/scaler already in the mix to hook a laptop and DVD-and/or-VCR to the system, which might let you run HD component, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Your best bet is to ask your contact at the event to hook you up with the A/V people well ahead of the event (and, in the A/V world, I can testify that "well ahead" means about 24 hours if you're lucky :D ) to discuss exactly these concerns.
