Record Video Projector Output

Has anyone had experience outputting through a connector on a video projector to a video record deck? I have a series of seminars that I am taping and I have been recording the PowerPoint presentation on a video camera and later in post replacing the slides. I was wondering if there was a way record directly from the video projector to a deck and inserting the slides directly from the tape? If it is possible...which connector can be used or which device can be used to accomplish this.

the problem is to know what resolution you will use, since VGA can output many format and a lot of them are incompatibles with video.
Recording PC signal is always difficult, and most of people prefer to convert directly at the source, either by capturing the screen inside the PC or
simply geting the presentation on an usb key. You can google for "vga recorder" and find some, but they are pretty expensive.
And you are never sure the presenter will use VGA, because today lots of laptop are coming with HDMI or DVI.
Installing a capture software is the best, but many presenters have corporate PC and are reluctant or have no rights to install software.
In DVI there is a device named VIEO TANK that can grab pictures from a DVI/HDMI signal.

Why not just export your slides from Powerpoint as Jpegs and import them into your NLE as stills? Much easier and better quality solution.
