Reconnected, but sequence doesn't see it

This is the 2nd time this has happened to me. I lost some footage. I recaptured it (it's 29.93) and then used cine tools to change it to 23.93 (all the rest of the footage is 23.93) Everything shows up fine in the bin, but the sequence doesn't see it. I tried adding the rev extention like Cinema Tools does sometimes, but the program still can't see it. The last time this happened was when I used Media Manager to bring down the file sizes. After the cleanup the files were there but the sequence couldn't see it. I'm using FCS 1 so I still have to change the fps before they'll work

do you mean that the clips on the timeline say the media has 'gone offline' but you have 'recaptured them' and imported them into the bin?

thats what i think you mean. the sequence timeline is referring to original file and file location. this happens when you've moved it to another folder, and then you just have to tell it where you've moved it. but if you're recapturing the footage, you're creating a NEW clip.

i dunno, i think that's your prob but i'm not sure..

Holy Smokes you're kidding me. So any time you recapture you're loosing all the files that your sequence refers to so you have to match those up again? Was FCP designed this way on purpose? I wound up going through and reconnecting each clip individually because of the FPS change. But I guess that means that you have to reconnect files in both places.
