Any recommendations? Due to budgetary constraints, I can't spend more than $1,000. The Manfrotto 503 fluid head tripod seems to be mentioned alot. Any comments on this one? Others? Thanks, in advance.
i have the 503 fluid head on 3246 legs.... perfect tripod setup for the price.. i love mine and everyone I know has the same setup .... defintely stay away from the 501 head
that setup runs 600 bucks from B+H ... you also might pick up a varizoom controller and be in budget if you havn't already
HAve a look at the Miller "Solo". I ahe this as the Carbon Fibre version. I have the DS10 Fluid Head... sturdy and very flexible. I use it for my HVX-200 and used it also for an HVR-Z1P and an PDX10..
pnugent was looking in the $1,000 range. Any recommendations for one substantially cheaper? I'm still broke from the camera
I don't have a definite price range, but I'm mainly doing non-motion interviews for documentaries. Looking for something simple, compatible, and easy to operate.
I love my libec ls55, $850 form texastapeworks, Great tripod, Blows my 503 right out of the water! I hear even the LS38 ($600) is quite amazing, They are built like tanks!
I have the Libec H22 fluid head, which is rated to 8.8 lbs and is a great match for the DVX100 if you're not using a lot of heavy lens adapters and matte boxes and such.
It will support it as that's pretty much what I've got going at the moment although the friction centering function doesn't work properly when at that much weight. As a fluid it head thou it still works really well.. I'm happy for the $
I just got the Libec LS38 because im hearing more and more great things about it
Hasn't arived yet but when i tried it in B & H it was glorious
nice sturdy build and very smooth
so i guess id recommend it but i havn't actually put it to the test
Alright so I am in desperate need of a tripod, I will only be filming snowboarding and my budget is around 300 give or take 50$. I will be using a dvx100b with a century optics mk2 death lens. Does anybody have any recommendations? I will need to order asap so any help would be muchly appreciated.
