Recommended shutter speed

I was suggested not to use any shutter speed on my hvx200/brevis combo. However i have come across some other posts where people advise to use 1/60 shutter speed. I was using 1/24 until i was told this was a bad decision. What do you guys use with your adaptor?

Standard shutter speed for 24 fps for film like motion is 180° shutter or 1/48th. Some go higher or lower to taste.
People generally go higher for a desired effect or slow motion.
1/24th is usually used for static shots to let in more light.

1/24 shutter speed involves a high risk of "intraframe blurring" (or whetever the correct terminology is). The shutter is open for so long that even small movements by the subject can cause noticeable blurring. 180d (or 1/48) is twice the speed, is the same speed as a film camera, and thus will produce the most film-like results. There can still be intraframe blurring of course, but no more than with film.

1/24 can certainly be useful (it's the most low-light friendly for sure) but only in scenes involving the most minimal of movement. HD focus is tricky enough without adding to the difficulty by slowing down the shutter too much.

guys
what about 1/60 is that too high

No such thing as "too high," it simply depends on what your shot calls for. Some films use very high shutter speeds to give things a chaotic, kinetic feel - just think Saving Private Ryan, which would've been using something like 1/250 (or a 45 degree shutter). If you're going for a more neutral look, 1/48 is a good number (180 degrees). Experiment and see what works best for you.

The only other thing to worry about is whether the adapter grain starts to become visible past a certain point on a fast shutter, but I don't know about the specifics there. Best to just do some tests and see what the adapter can handle.
